MaineWorks is a temporary employment agency specializing in felon reentry and recovery through industrial labor.
For Clients:
We provide outstanding short-term labor to industrial construction sites.
- Our employees are fully insured and paid weekly.
- We hire with discretion.
- We collaborate with Probation, Pre-release programs, and sober houses.
- Most of our recruiting is through direct employee referral.
Employment is a major factor in reducing recidivism. We are creating real and lasting change for individuals committed to helping themselves. A feeling of success goes a long way in rebuilding lives.
We are not a social-services agency, we support our employees by referring and directing them to appropriate housing and health care through a felon mentor program.
We provide transportation to the worksite.
For Workers:
Maine Works provides good jobs and practical life assistance to recently released individuals facing complex life issues related to:
- probation
- living arrangements
- health care (especially mental health issues related to substance abuse)
We provide transportation to the worksite.
Our clients include: large industrial construction and excavation companies, road and bridge construction, Maine DOT, landscaping, warehouses, moving companies and boatyards.
Social Change:
Maine Works advocates for felon rights including reclassification of felon status. We encourage our employees to become socially aware and to give back to the community.
